1. SET UP YOUR NETID AND STUDENT EMAIL!
2. REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION!
This is mandatory of all incoming first-year students and highly recommended for transfer students. Ignition is held prior to each semester, and spots fill quickly, so sign up now at http://www.kennesaw.edu/ignition.
3. SUBMIT YOUR UNIVERSITY HOUSING APPLICATION!
We offer a wide variety of floor plans for first-year and transfer students coupled with unforgettable experiences. Reserve your room and learn more at http://www.kennesaw.edu/housing.
4. SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN ACADEMIC ADVISOR!
This optional appointment will give you the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor one-on-one prior to attending your orientation session. After you register for orientation, contact the office or schedule your appointment at http://kennesaw.edu/nest/.

5. SIGN UP FOR THE MATH PLACEMENT TEST!
This is strongly recommended, especially for students majoring in programs housed on the Marietta Campus, and will help in guiding you and your advisor as you register for classes. Sign up at http://placement.kennesaw.edu.
6. CHECK FOR HOLDS ON YOUR ACCOUNT!
These holds will keep you from registering for classes at Ignition. View your current holds at http://kennesaw.edu/admissionscheck.
7. SUBMIT THE FAFSA!
Take advantage of the potential for federal aid at https://fafsa.ed.gov/.
8. PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

9. ADVANCED PLACEMENT (AP) CREDIT, CLEP, AND IB TEST SCORES
Check out which Advanced Placement (AP) credit, CLEP and IB test scores for advanced standing credits through Transfer Services.
10. TRANSFER CREDIT EVALUATION
Students may receive credit for previous college coursework. Once fully accepted, an evaluation of prior college work will occur, and the applicant will receive email notification once completed. Evaluation of transfer credit can be viewed on your Owl Express account. Students are encouraged to visit the Transfer Services website to view a list of all courses that will transfer to Kennesaw State.
As a unit of the University System of Georgia, Kennesaw State University is required to follow the Board of Regents Guidelines for immunizations for school entrance.
This document must be submitted in person, mailed, or faxed to the Kennesaw State University Immunization Department, located in the Registrar's Office in Kennesaw Hall.
Acceptable forms to submit include the Immunization Form signed by a doctor or nurse practitioner or an official document from a clinic, county health department, or other source.
If your immunization records are not received by the end of your first semester, a hold will be placed on your registration.
2 MMR's (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
1 TDAP (Tetanus, Pertussis and Diphtheria) shot within the past 10 years
2 doses of the chicken pox (Varicella) vaccine or history of the disease
3 doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine for persons aged 18 or under when entering Kennesaw State
Tips for submitting immunization records:
Immunization information can best be obtained by contacting your county health department, doctor's office or clinic, or previous schools you may have attended. If you are unable to find your records, all vaccines and blood tests to prove immunity are available at the Appointment Clinic
Please make sure your name and birthdate are correct on all forms that you submit
Check your records for the required number of doses for each vaccine
If your records are more than 10 years old, there is a chance they will not meet all Kennesaw State University immunization requirements

OUT-OF-STATE TUITION WAIVER
Each year, the Kennesaw State University Office of Undergraduate Admissions invites out-of-state students that demonstrate academic achievement, community involvement, and leadership skills to apply for an “Out-of-StateTuition Waiver.” For International Student out-of-state waivers, contact firstname.lastname@example.org for information.
Recipients who receive a waiver end up qualifying for in-state tuition, but are responsible for all applicable fees. There are a limited number of waivers available, therefore qualified applicants will be awarded in the order their application is received.
Recipients for the initial or renewed Out-of-State Tuition Waiver must sign the “Intent to Enroll Form” for the Fall 2016 semester before the waiver is applied to your student account.
Recipients of the Out-of-State Tuition Waiver must maintain satisfactory academic performance which will be reviewed each semester. The wavier is valid up to eight semesters and will be renewed each semester for students who have maintained a 2.5 grade point average and have earned 12 semester hours each academic term.
First Time Freshmen
- Accepted into Kennesaw State University
- Have SAT Combined Critical Reading and Mathematics score of 1000 OR ACT Composite of 20
- Have a High School GPA of 3.2 as determined by KSU
- Must be on track to complete Required High School Curriculum
- Home Educated applicants will be considered based on meeting the SAT/ACT standard only
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Preference will be given to students who have exceeded required test scores, GPA requirements,
and demonstrate superior academic potential
- Accepted into Kennesaw State University
- Have earned at least 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours that will transfer to KSU
- Have a Transfer GPA of 3.0 in their college coursework. The cumulative transfer GPA for admission eligibility is calculated on all academic work attempted from all institutions attended. If a course is repeated, then both grades are calculated.
- Submit a letter of recommendation
- Preference will be given to students who have exceeded GPA requirements and demonstrate superior academic potential
We will reopen the application link for admitted students this Fall.
The deadline for submission of the waiver application will be March 1, 2016. Recipients of the waiver will be notified toward April 2016.

If you are in the USA, please use the SEVIS transfer form so that your I20 will be sent to KSU.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR I20 IS SIGNED. IF YOU ARE OUT OF THE USA, YOUR I20 WILL BE ENCLOSED WITH YOUR ACCEPTANCE LETTER.

If you are out of the USA, visit https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee and pay the fee. THIS MUST BE DONE BEFORE YOUR VISA INTERVIEW. BE SURE TO PRINT YOUR RECEIPT.
Call the embassy or consulate and book an appointment for your visa, BE SURE TO TAKE THE ENCLOSED I20 AND YOUR i901 RECEIPT WITH YOU, and a valid passport (at least 1 year before expiring).

Upon arrival to Kennesaw State campus, please visit the International Admissions office at Town Point. You will need your passport, I20 and I94.
MANDATORY INSURANCE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Students in the following categories must purchase the USG SHIP policy if they are not covered by an policy held by a parent, spouse, company or organization on the approved waiver list or if the policy does not meet the minimum standards, .
• All undergraduate, graduate and ESL international students holding F or J (KSU sponsored) visas.
• International Scholars.
Students who fall into one of these categories and are already covered by an acceptable insurance policy (i.e. through parent plans, family plans or employer-sponsored plans) can easily opt out of the plan through a secure on-line process. Once the information has been verified, all charges will be removed from your student account. Students listed in the above categories who fail to submit creditable health insurance information will automatically be enrolled in and billed for the system-wide student health insurance plan.
Please go to www.studentcenter.uhcsr.com/kennesaw to either confirm your enrollment or to fill out a waiver form.
You will need your KSU ID# and your birthdate in order to confirm or waive the insurance. Please note: Until you register, you will not show up in the system.

VA CERTIFYING OFFICIAL
Glenda Espana is Kennesaw State's Certifying Official. ALL Veterans or family members using VA benefits must go through Glenda to certify and process benefits. Speak with Glenda right away to learn about the benefits you are eligible for as well as benefits you may not be aware of that are available to you.

MILITARY AND VETERANS SERVICES
In 2010, Kennesaw State was the first institution in the state of Georgia to offer a Military and Veterans Services. Today it is the largest Military and Veterans Services in Georgia. The center is managed and run by military veterans from all different branches. You will meet current military students like yourself who have been through the process and are eager to help you.
