Homecoming saw students, staff and fans of Owl Nation come together and celebrate an impressive institution!

KENNESAW, Ga. (Oct 12, 2018) — Homecoming is an opportunity for students, staff and alumni to come together and celebrate Kennesaw State. And this year’s Homecoming was one of the most memorable yet! The week was filled with service projects, student spirit contests, the annual homecoming concert and of course our football game!

Organized by the Department of Student Leadership and Service, the service projects allow students to participate to help others. The first project was at the Marietta campus where students created dog rope toys out of old t-shirts for the rescue dogs at Mostly Mutts Animal Hospital! At the Kennesaw Campus, students created thank you cards for active-duty deployed soldiers.

Students also participated in our annual spirit competitions. This year saw the cardboard boat regatta, lip syncing contest, team trivia, the parade banner and float competition! Student groups came out to celebrate Owl Nation and show some friendly competition!

Our Homecoming week continued with our annual Homecoming Concert event. This year, singer-songwriter Jesse McCartney was our Homecoming Artist! With his popular hits like “Beautiful Soul” and his most recent single “Better with You”, students rocked out on the campus green!

Homecoming ended with our traditional parade and football game. The annual parade featured student-made floats with appearances by the homecoming court and President Whitten! Later that day, our impressive football team beat Presbyterian 56 – 0! In addition, our homecoming Queen and King was announced at halftime. Jon Pierre and Kelsey Jones became Owl Royalty by winning King and Queen of Homecoming!
