KSU’s engineering program is the second largest engineering school in Georgia
(Oct 26, 2018) — Thursday, October 25 marked the eighth annual Pumpkin Launch! The Southern Polytechnical College
students had the opportunity to design and build their launchers to see who can toss
a pumpkin in the air the farthest.
This event is a great chance for engineering students to show off their engineering skills while having some friendly competition. Students designed, created, and tested to see if their launcher successfully launched a pumpkin near a 30-centimeter target, 30 meters away!
Since KSU’s engineering program is the second largest engineering school in Georgia, the Pumpkin Launch event is a great way to set KSU engineering students apart from others. Students not only get show off their knowledge of mechanical engineering but also have some hands-on experience. In addition, this year KSU’s engineering program was listed in the top 100 in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” issue! The Pumpkin Launching event is truly a celebration of the outstanding work of both KSU’s faculty and students!
