Sam Mahra

Director of Admissions

Sam MahraWhat drew you to Kennesaw State University?

The progress that KSU has made since its founding is what really drew me to the institution.  KSU has been one of the most forward thinking and fastest growing universities-in what it offers and in recognition.

What is the best part of your job?

I think the best part of my job is being able to contribute to a university that is evolving into something greater year after year and letting students know of all great things KSU has to offer.

Describe what “Owl Nation” means to you.

It means taking pride in KSU, being part of a community that believes in continually enhancing student success, improving institutional quality, and providing resources for students to grow personally and professionally.

If you could share one “secret” about Kennesaw State, what would it be?

It’s really hard to sum up what’s great in one secret, however I would say that KSU offers one of the best “well-rounded” experiences of any university in terms of academic reputation, extracurricular offerings, athletics, and location within metro Atlanta.

Any advice for future Owls?

Realize the possibilities and choices you have in front of you. As an incoming student, you’ll be taking the first steps toward achieving your personal goals.  Those goals can lead to graduate school, life-long friendships, or a dream career.  While it’s natural to have moments when you doubt your ability to succeed, you’ll realize anything is possible if you are determined and motivated.
